Dogwoof proudly presents the UK premiere of DANCER, followed by a Q&A and live performance by Sergei Polunin, brought to the big screen live via satellite on Thursday 2 March ahead of the film’s release on 10th March, 2017.

Broadcast live from the London Palladium, this exclusive event will connect Sergei Polunin with his existing fans as well as introducing him to a brand new fanbase, up close and personal from the best seat in the house!

Directed by Academy Award nominated Steve Cantor, DANCER offers a uniquely personal portrait of a most singular man and dancer. Blessed with astonishing power and poise, Sergei Polunin took the dance world by storm and became the Royal Ballet's youngest ever principal. At the peak of his success, aged 25, he walked away, driven to the brink of self-destruction by stardom - his talent more a burden than a gift.

From archive footage of Polunin training at the age of 6 to be an Olympic gymnast, to intimate material shot by both his parents, and in-depth interviews with family, friends, colleagues through to footage of Sergei’s life on and off the stage now, we witness every step of his journey.

The film includes a special contribution from renowned photographer and director David LaChapelle, who in 2015 shot Polunin's dance to Hozier's 'Take Me to Church' and generated over 10 Million YouTube views within two months of its release online.

DANCER is an unprecedented look into the life of a complex young man who has made ballet go viral.

  29. Viceroy's House (FLS)

    Rating: 12A

    Run Time: 106 minutes

British rulers of India. After 300 years, that rule was coming to an end. For 6 months in 1947, Lord Mountbatten, great grandson of Queen Victoria, assumed the post of the last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people. Mountbatten lived upstairs together with his wife and daughter. Downstairs lived their 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants. As the political elite took their seats to wrangle over the birth of independent India, conflict erupted throughout the House and a catastrophic decision was taken with global repercussions. Partition - the decision to divide India and create the new Muslim homeland of Pakistan - led tothe largest mass migration in human history. The film is deeply personal to the director whose own family was caught up in the tragic events that unfolded as British rule came to an end. Her film examines those events through the prism of both a marriage - that of Louis and Edwina Mountbatten – and a romance - that between a young Hindu servant, Jeet, and his intended Muslim bride, Aalia. The young lovers find themselves caught up in the seismic end of Empire, in conflict with the Mountbattens and with their own communities, but never ever giving up hope…

Featuring David Bowie and his backing group, The Spiders from Mars, performing at the Hammersmith ODEON in London on 3rd July 1973. This rockumentary is a mix of backstage and onstage footage including Bowie's hits, album cuts and covers of Rolling Stones and Velvet Underground songs.

This shows the historic performance in which Bowie made the sudden announcement that the show would be "the last show that we'll ever do". This transpired to be the shock announcement that he was retiring the Ziggy Stardust persona.

This digitally and audio remastered documentary will be paired with a brand new, 30 minute Bowie documentary giving insight into the 1973 Hammersmith event, filmed exclusively for this event by the team behind q and MOJO magazine.

This event is Free List Suspended. No complimentary tickets or free passes can be accepted.
